Bursary Support

Money may be a concern when making the decision to study. There is some financial help and support available, to allow students to focus on getting the best from their course and worry less about finances.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, you may be able eligible to receive support through the bursary fund.

The purpose of bursary is to provide support to students who would find it difficult to meet the costs associated with studying a Level 3 or Level 4 Further Education course.

What can the bursary fund cover?

Childcare

The bursary can support the cost of your childcare on the days you attend college. The maximum award we can provide for childcare costs is £250 per academic month and the childcare provider must be Ofsted registered.

Free Early Years Childcare

If your child is aged between 3 and 4 you may be eligible for free childcare.
All 3 and 4 year olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare each week for 38 weeks of the year and some 2 year olds are also eligible.

If you are eligible for free early education this will be used first.

Travel

The bursary can provide support for travel to and from College. You will need to live a minimum of 2 miles from your campus in order to qualify.
Please note that any funding awarded by the College may not cover 100% of your costs. If your award does not cover the majority of your costs please contact the Centre Manager.

Course Equipment

We are able to offer support for course equipment if you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to purchase necessary equipment for your course. Speak to your course leader about the type of equipment that can be funded through the bursary.
