Coronavirus Update
COVID-19 Safety
The centre will continue with delivery of teaching and training to ensure all our students can benefit from their qualification(s) in full.
Qualifications which are predominantly theory/knowledge based are being delivered remotely and qualifications requiring practical assessments will be delivered through blended learning ie. partly being delivered in-person in a covid-secure environment, as well as remotely to keep students and staff safe.
Students will receive guidance from the centre and staff as to the delivery model adopted for specific qualifications. If in doubt, please email chika@bockconsultancy.com.
What if I am clinically extremely vulnerable?
Adult students aged 19+, that are classified as clinically extremely vulnerable, are advised not to attend college whilst the national restrictions are in place. These students will have received a letter confirming that they are still clinically extremely vulnerable.
We have made arrangements for students in this category to continue their education at home.
Experiencing symptoms of Covid-19?
The NHS advice is that anyone with a high temperature and/or a new, continuous cough should self-isolate for 14 days.
Likewise, if you come into close contact with someone diagnosed with coronavirus or who has the symptoms of a cough or a fever, please self-isolate and stay at home and follow NHS advice.
Use of face coverings
Face coverings must be worn (except by those who are exempt for medical reasons) by staff, visitors and students when entering College buildings and in all shared indoor spaces.
This means in the reception areas, communal spaces, classrooms, corridors, offices, meeting rooms, and workshops, with the following exceptions:
• When alone in single occupancy offices
• When eating or drinking

Attending or visiting the Centre in person?
If you are attending any of our college sites, we ask that you:
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands regularly
- Use the hand sanitiser provided at stations throughout the college

Staying Safe Online
The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has impacted everyone’s daily lives. More people are working from home, looking after children and spending time online.
Many people are using new services, apps or devices such as webcams and tablets, to work or socialise at this time.
To help you stay safe:
Check your security and privacy settings
- Adjust privacy and safety settings to increase security and control the personal data you share. Look for the ‘privacy and security’ or ‘settings’ on the app or website.
- Review the security settingson your ‘smart’ devices. If your device is using a default or easily guessable password, change it.
Block unsuitable content
- It is important to understand the website or app you are using and how they do things – find out in their terms and conditions.
- If you see harmful activity, report it to the site.
Check the facts
Not all information online is reliable.
Before you like, comment or share something online use the SHARE checklist to make sure you’re not contributing to the spread of harmful content:
- Source – make sure information comes from a trusted source
- Headline – always read beyond the headline
- Analyse – check the facts
- Retouched – does the image or video look as though it has been doctored?
- Error – look out for bad grammar and spelling
Protect against Fraud
- Do not give out your personal information to websites or in response to emails/text messages you do not recognise or trust.
- You can forward any suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk, a new service run by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Suspicious Email Reporting Service. The NCSC’s automated programme will immediately test the validity of the site and if found to be phishing scams, they will be removed immediately.
