Course Overview
If you need an assessment for your core gas qualification (CCN1) or appliances, whether it’s your initial assessment or your existing ACS certification has lapsed over 12 months ago, the assessment will be designated as an INITIAL assessment.
If you fall into the category of individuals whose ACS certification has lapsed more than 12 months ago, it’s important to note that training is not obligatory before undergoing assessment.

Assessment
The initial ACS is a combination of assessing both your practical skills and your knowledge and understanding of the theory.
You can undergo assessment for:
- CCN1- Core Gas Safety
- CKR1- Domestic Cookers
- CENWAT- Central Heating Boilers
- HTR1- Gas Fires and Wall Heaters
- CPA1- Combustion Performance Analysis
Cost & Assessment Duration
- CCN1 & CPA1 (Core Gas Safety)- Up to 5 Days initial assessment- £650
- CCN1 & CPA1 (Core Gas Safety) + 4 Appliances of your choice- Up to 5 Days initial assessment – £945
Appliance Only:
- CKR1 – 1 day- £125
- CENWAT – 1 day – £125
- HTR1- 1 day- £125
